High above
the clouds,
I can see the sun
reflecting off
of them
in shades
of pink and orange...
below,
the ground is covered
with huge
patches of snow...
we rise higher
&
higher
through the last
layer of clouds...
the sight
is breathtaking,
dreamlike,
almost unreal...
the land
begins to roll
with hills
&
rise into
mountain ridges...
heading northward,
into Canada
on the
way to Chicago
where I have
a layover
on my way
back
to Nashville,
where friends
wait for me
& responsibilities
and to do lists
are close behind
them...
back to
"the real world",
as they say...
whatever that means...
For me it's the closing
of one chapter
&
the beginning
of another...
